Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of YEW (the "Service"), operated by YEW ("YEW," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

YEW is a subscription app that delivers science-backed reminders and a weekly action checklist to help users build consistent relationship habits. YEW is a single-user product: your partner does not need to sign up, and we do not contact them.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use YEW.

3. Subscription, Trial, and Billing

  • YEW offers a 7-day free trial, followed by a paid subscription billed at $3.99/month unless canceled before the trial ends.
  • Billing is processed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.
  • Prices may vary by location due to Stripe Adaptive Pricing and applicable taxes.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide partial refunds for unused time unless required by law.

4. SMS and Email Communications

  • If you opt in to SMS reminders, you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from YEW at the mobile number provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to cancel SMS at any time; reply HELP for assistance.
  • Consent to receive SMS is not required to use the Service — you may instead choose email reminders or no daily reminders.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others

6. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and materials within YEW (including the action library, scoring system, and design) are owned by YEW and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute this content without permission.

7. Disclaimer

YEW provides general relationship-maintenance content based on published research (e.g., Gottman Institute, relationship maintenance literature). YEW is not a substitute for therapy, counseling, or professional mental health services. We make no guarantees about relationship outcomes.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, YEW and its owner(s) are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription and contacting hello@yew.app for data deletion requests.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Washington without regard to conflict of law principles.
